My Mom Googles

It's Mother's Day and people everywhere are gathering to wish their Mother a Happy Mother's Day. It is a special day for so many. This year my Mom came to visit me. And we have had a good time catching up and visiting. If there is one thing about my mother I'm proud of it is the fact that she is still actively learning.

In the past three years my mother has gone from wanting to know where the carriage return is on the computer to sending emails and surfing the world wide web (if you don't know what a carriage return is, maybe you should google it). At the intelligent age of "mature" she has tackled the technology world and is quiet comfortable entering a zone where most people her age would not dare to go. She has opened that door never to return again.

Now, with her iPad in hand (yes, I said iPad) she can read more books, work more crossword puzzles, keep up with the news, find new recipes, stay in touch with friends, and know more about our relatives than any of the rest of us--thanks to facebook! Last night she told me something I didn't know, and of course now I don't remember what that was but I ask her how she knew it and she said, "I googled it". Is that the deal or what. My Mom googles.

So to my Mom, Happy Mother's Day Jean, I'm very proud of you for being a part of your own continuing education! I love you.

Hope you all...
Enjoye!

  1. I ditto you sister. I too am proud of my mother. She has made such a positive influence on her children and grandson. It's fun to watch the two of them work a crossword. Thanks Mom for being who you are. I love you too. Jan

  2. I'm major impressed with Jean! And, if she lays the IPad down for one second, Glenn grabs it and is off into the world wide web, googling is own concerns and sending emails. I'm impressed with both of them and so thrilled to see how they have dared to go where a lot of folks are afraid to go! Keep up the good work and have lots of fun! Lib
